Nestled in the heart of Lenoir-Rhyne's campus, the Bear Grove is your go-to destination for relaxation, recreation and connection. This vibrant outdoor space, located on the quad, offers a refreshing outdoor area for all Bears to enjoy!

What Awaits You in the Bear Grove:

  • Hammock Haven: Sway gently in our hammock garden, perfect for reading, napping or simply unwinding under blue skies.
  • Game On! Challenge your friends to a friendly game of Spikeball, cornhole, football or soccer. We provide the equipment, you bring the competitive spirit.
  • Adirondack Comfort: Relax and socialize in our comfortable Adirondack chairs, ideal for group study sessions or casual conversations.The current Adirondack chairs in the Bear Grove are temporary. Permanent chairs will be added soon.
  • Picnic Perfect: Enjoy a meal or study session at our convenient picnic tables, perfect for groups or individual use.
  • Blanket Bliss: Spread out a cozy blanket and enjoy the sunshine. Perfect for picnics, studying or just soaking up the atmosphere.
  • Your Outdoor Living Room: The Bear Grove is designed to be your outdoor living room — a place to connect, recharge and enjoy the beauty of our campus.

Make the most of your Bear Grove experience. Stop by the Rudisill Library, your one-stop shop for outdoor fun. Stop by the front desk to check out any of the following equipment:
